How Is Earthxway Doing? Our 2026 Projects Update

People sometimes ask us a very direct question: "So how is Earthxway actually doing?"

It's a fair question, and one every supporter of a young NGO should ask. Our answer isn't a glossy brochure. It's a plain walk through what's done, what's under way and what's still a plan, using the same labels you'll find on our Projects page.

This Earthxway projects update covers where our work stands in 2026: completed work, ongoing programmes, upcoming projects we're seeking partners for, and where our headline numbers stand.

Key Takeaways

  • Completed: a community plantation of 100+ native saplings at Silver Spring Apartment, Wagholi, Pune, and our Geo-Tagged Tree Adoption Platform.
  • Ongoing: green schools in Pune and Gondia, women's green livelihoods in Gondia district, farmer support in Vidarbha, a multilingual farmer helpline and eco-ponds in Wagholi.
  • Upcoming: agroforestry, watershed development, climate education boxes, a model climate-resilient village and more, all still at the planning or partnership stage.
  • Headline number: our homepage impact counter shows 55,732+ trees planted (as of October 2026), and survival data will follow after the first full year of monitoring.
  • How to check: every project is listed on our Projects page and our Impact Map.

Where Earthxway Works

Earthxway Foundation is a young, Maharashtra-based non-profit. Our head office is in Nagpur and our branch office is in Wagholi, Pune. Most of our current work is in and around Pune, Nagpur and Gondia district in eastern Maharashtra.

Our work runs across six programme areas: reforestation and plantation, women's empowerment, sustainable agriculture, water conservation, climate action and CSR services. You can read about each on our Programs page.

Earthxway Projects Update: The Headline Numbers

We know readers want numbers first. Here's where they stand:

  • Trees planted: our homepage impact counter shows 55,732+ trees planted (as of October 2026).
  • Survival: We'll publish verified sapling survival data, with the date and method of measurement, after the first full year of monitoring at our sites.
  • Beneficiaries and sites: we'll publish beneficiary counts with an "as of" date once they're reconciled with our field records. Our current sites are in and around Pune, Nagpur and Gondia district, and each one is listed on our Projects page and Impact Map.

Our long-term mission goals, shown on our homepage, are to plant 1 million trees, empower 50,000 women and support 25,000 farmers. These are goals we're working towards, not results.

Completed Projects

100 Trees Plantation Drive – Silver Spring Apartment, Wagholi

This was a community-driven plantation at Silver Spring Apartment in Wagholi, Pune. Over 100 native saplings were planted with active participation from residents and children. Earthxway provided the saplings and plantation kits, and residents gave their time for site preparation, planting and ongoing care.

Why it matters: it's a small project, but it's a complete one. That makes it a working model for housing societies who want to green their own spaces. Thinking of doing the same? See our guide on how to plant a sapling and care for it.

Geo-Tagged Tree Adoption Platform

This is a web platform that lets individuals and companies adopt trees online and track them through GPS, photo updates and impact dashboards. It's the backbone of our Adopt-a-Tree and gifting programmes, and of the transparency we promise. Read more about how GPS sapling tracking works.

Ongoing Projects

Green School Certification Program (Pune and Gondia)

This programme turns school campuses into climate-friendly spaces, with geo-tagged saplings that students adopt and track, eco-clubs, composting and student environmental leadership. Our first Green School transformation is complete at Vishnuji Shekuji Satav High School in Pune, and we're planning to expand across 40+ schools in Gondia district.

Green Minds School Challenge 2026 (Gondia)

An extension of the Green School programme. It's a district-level campaign across Gondia with school-level execution, combining drawing and writing competitions with tree plantation inside school campuses.

Green Employment Mission for Women (Tiroda, Gondia district)

This project builds rural women's enterprises in climate-positive livelihoods through self-help groups, focused on vermicomposting, beekeeping, herbal products, jute packaging and solar lamp assembly.

Gondia Women Empowerment Initiative

Green skills training, self-help group formation and micro-enterprise support for rural women in Gondia district, in areas such as vermicomposting, herbal products and sustainable handicrafts.

Vidarbha Farmer Support Program (Nagpur)

Sustainable farming training and organic seed distribution for cotton farmers in drought-prone Vidarbha.

Farmer Voicebot Helpline (Maharashtra)

An AI-powered multilingual WhatsApp bot giving farmers weather alerts, pesticide guidance and market rates in Marathi, Hindi and English.

Eco-Ponds with Native Aquatic Plants (Wagholi, Pune)

Eco-ponds with native aquatic plants such as lotus, restoring small water ecosystems that support amphibians and insects. We have already completed an eco-pond at our Wagholi site.

Upcoming Projects (Seeking Partners)

These are plans, not results. Each is listed as "Upcoming" on our Projects page, and any tree or beneficiary figures shown there are targets.

  • CSR-ESG Impact Data Platform: real-time tracking and reporting for CSR donors, with GPS plantation mapping and automated ESG metrics.
  • Climate Education Box for Rural Schools: self-learning kits with solar lamps, seed kits, soil test kits and a basic climate curriculum for rural schools in Maharashtra.
  • Integrated Watershed Development: watershed management across 3–5 villages in rural Maharashtra using check dams, contour bunds, GIS mapping and farmer-led water councils.
  • Carbon Sequestration & Agroforestry: a planned 50-hectare agroforestry project combining native trees with food crops for tribal and rural farmers. Any certified carbon credits would go through independent standards such as Verra or the Gold Standard; Earthxway doesn't verify credits itself.
  • Eco-Climate Resilience Village: a model village with rainwater harvesting, native trees, solar lights, biogas units, women's SHGs and IoT-based smart irrigation.
  • Drone-Aided Seed Ball Reforestation: drone-deployed seed balls of native species on degraded land in Maharashtra.
  • GreenBot: a planned low-cost autonomous tree-planting robot for smallholder farms, with a design target of 500–1,000 trees a day. There's no prototype yet; the programme is waiting on funding.
  • CSR Corporate Plantation Drive: employee engagement plantation drives with geo-tagged trees, GPS tracking, impact dashboards and adoption certificates.

What's Gone Well

  • Completing small projects properly. The Silver Spring drive and the first Green School both show that a well-run small project is a better foundation than many half-finished large ones.
  • Building tracking early. Because the adoption platform is in place, new plantations can be geo-tagged from the first sapling.
  • Working with communities. Residents, students, teachers, farmers and women's self-help groups are partners in our work, not audiences for it.

What We're Still Working On

We'd be doing exactly what we criticise if we only listed successes. Areas we're actively improving:

  • Confirming and publishing totals with "as of" dates, and adding survival data after the first full year.
  • Keeping every page consistent, so project status, targets and results always match across the site.
  • Documenting registrations and approvals clearly before mentioning them.

Earthxway Foundation has 12A and 80G registration under the Income Tax Act, so donations to us are eligible for deduction under Section 80G. Ask us for a Form 10BE certificate when you donate. Our NGO Darpan ID is MH/2025/0619795. On CSR, we're building toward eligibility: implementing agencies generally need a three-year track record, and we were founded in 2025. We'll share specific field lessons in our next update, once we've reviewed a full year of monitoring.

How You Can Help Each Programme

Different supporters can help in different ways. Here's where each kind of help makes the biggest difference right now:

  • Individuals and families: gifting or adopting a tree supports our plantation work and gives you a tracked tree with a certificate and photo updates.
  • Housing societies and residents' associations: host a community plantation drive like the one at Silver Spring Apartment. You provide the people and the space; we can help with saplings, kits and planning.
  • Schools and teachers: join the Green School programme or the Green Minds School Challenge, and let students adopt and track their own saplings.
  • Companies: sponsor an ongoing project or one of the "CSR Ready" upcoming projects, or run an employee plantation drive.
  • Volunteers: give a weekend to a plantation drive, an awareness campaign or a climate education session.
  • Experts: if you work in forestry, hydrology, agriculture, data or design, we'd value your skills and your critical eye.

Frequently Asked Questions

What projects has Earthxway completed?

Our Projects page lists two completed projects: the 100 Trees Plantation Drive at Silver Spring Apartment in Wagholi, Pune, and the Geo-Tagged Tree Adoption Platform. We've also completed our first Green School transformation, at Vishnuji Shekuji Satav High School in Pune, and an eco-pond at our Wagholi site.

Where does Earthxway work?

Mainly in Maharashtra: around Pune (including Wagholi), Nagpur and Gondia district. Our head office is in Nagpur and our branch office is in Wagholi, Pune.

How many trees has Earthxway planted?

Our homepage impact counter shows 55,732+ trees planted (as of October 2026). You can see individual projects on our Projects page and Impact Map.

Are upcoming project numbers real results?

No. Tree and beneficiary figures on upcoming projects are targets. We label every project as ongoing, completed or upcoming so plans aren't mistaken for results.

How can my company support an upcoming project?

Many upcoming projects are marked "CSR Ready". As a 2025-founded organisation we're still building toward CSR eligibility, which generally needs a three-year track record, so today companies can partner through employee volunteering and tree gifting (not counted as CSR spend; check with your CA). Contact us through our CSR Partnerships page to discuss scope, location and reporting.
